Columbia River High School

Home of the Chieftains!

Welcome Columbia River High School Alumni!

September 4, 1962, Columbia River High School opened it’s doors to approximately 800 students grades 10-12.  That began a legacy marked by the Chieftain, a symbol of our school spirit for nearly six decades.

I’m sure your time at “River” has many memories.  I hope this website becomes a virtual “Rock” to connect with old friends and share stories long forgotten with fellow classmates.

Once a Chieftain, always a Chieftain!

On September 8, 2020 the Vancouver School District Board voted to remove our Chieftain mascot and 58 years of tradition at Columbia River High School.

Most recently the 2019 student body was polled and 79% voted to keep the Chieftain mascot.  The topic had been reviewed in 1994 as well.  In the end it didn’t matter.

This site is dedicated to the Alumni of Columbia River High School who are proud to call themselves Chieftains, and honor what it means to be one.
